Our students compete at shows at the Gibson County Saddle Club, Henry County Saddle Club, Oakfield Saddle Club, 4H (county, region, and state level), NBHA (National Barrel Horse Association), American Ranch Horse Association, and the Clarksville 79 Saddle Club.
We had a super show season for 2007, with numerous awards. At the GCSC, HCSC, & Oakfield show alone, Back 9 kids walked away with over 245 ribbons!! 45 1st, 48 2nd, 49 3rd, 58 4th and 45 5th. There were some of those saddle club shows that we forgot to count all the ribbons, so there are more than that total! And there were a few other shows that students attended (like 4H, Clarksville 79 and Ranch Horse) that we didn't count at all. And of course at NBHA shows, there are not ribbons...just cold hard cash!! We are proud to say that our kids received 1st place in overall high points in 10 classes and 2nd overall high point in 5 classes. Included in that total are two saddle club overall high points.
We are so proud of our Back 9 participants for their hard work this show season and think that since it was our first show season as a barn, that all of those awards are a pretty awesome accomplishment. Our students have come so far this season and will continue to improve! And we have so many more students that are chomping at the bit to compete as well!!
Here are a few photos of some of the Back 9 crew with their awards.

|
Christy Cunningham ended up winning the Youth Barrels class at Gibson Cuotny and coming in 2nd in Open Barrels. (and for the record, loves the money in her pocket much better for those speed events than if she had gotten more ribbons!!)
|
Mackenzie Johnson ended up the high point winner in lead line at both Gibson County and Henry County and 4th at Oakfield. Considering she only entered one class per show, we think that is a pretty impressive stack of prizes with all the ribbons, trophies, two belt buckles and a halter!
