We invite you to attend our annual summer camp. Our camp is open to children ages 6 & up, beginner to advanced. We carefully design our curriculum to appeal to all levels and ages. We place our campers in groups based on age and experience for the safety and better understanding of each camper. We offer individualized instruction for our beginners and group lessons and games for our intermediate and advanced riders. Our camp focuses on total horsemanship, educating campers in the areas of grooming, handling, safety, nutrition, breeds, colors, and foal care. We provide daily opportunities for every child to ride, usually both in the morning and afternoon. We are a horse camp and ALL of our activities focus on horses and horse related activities.
Our facility lends itself beautifully for offering 3 distinct areas for our campers based on ability level. The newbies and beginners are in the indoor arena learning the basics. The advanced beginners and intermediates are in one outdoor arena polishing up on skills, playing games and having a blast. And the advanced riders are in the new outdoor arena practicing advanced concepts and really challenging each other. Our campers do come together as a large group for some activities. However, our large facility and three seperate arenas allow us to truly offer 3 levels of camp every week. We also have trails for our intermediate and advanced riders, depending on the planned activities for that week. Campers have the opportunity to advance from one group to the next, especially if they attend multiple weeks.
Our advanced campers are also able to participate in a real hands on way by having two project horses for the week. They will learn skills on the ground with "their" yearling &/or weanling for the week, learning fabulous exercises to earn a horse's respect from the ground. And they have a riding project horse on which they will learn advanced skills in the saddle. This is a great opportunity for any camper who owns his/her own horse, really wants to own his/her own horse, or just wants to really challenge himself to move to the next level of horsemanship.
In 2008 we will be offering 6 weeks of camp. Camp runs daily from 8 - 3 with lunch provided. Campers may attend 1 week, multiple weeks or all 6. We filled every slot, every week of camp last summer, so be sure to register early! The weeks offered will be: June 2 - 6 June 9 - 13 June 16 - 20 June 23 - 27 June 30 - July 3 Advanced week July 7 - 11
